This material is pretty new in the market of kitchen worktops, but is already popular with many consumers. The worktop has the following positive characteristics:

• It is very hard.
• Maximum fire and heat resistance. It can withstand temperatures up to 1200 degrees Celsius.
• Due to its hardness, it is wear-resistant and scratch-resistant; it can hardly be broken.
• The color is easy to combine with other materials and finishes.
• The worktop is 100% color-fast, and therefore highly resistant to UV light.
• The worktops are available in large sizes, so there is often no need for a seam in the worktop.
• It is resistant to stains and water.
• It is low maintenance and hygienic due to its high density.

Disadvantages of a kitchen top made from Dekton are the following:

• Actually, there are almost no disadvantages with a Dekton top.
• The material is sensitive to point load. This means that if a sharp object, such as a knife, comes down to it, damage can occur.

A Dekton sheet is similar in structure and look to a worktop of Ceramics but where ceramic sheets have a somewhat artificial appearance, Dekton has an aesthetic addition of design level.
